چکیده

This paper presents a control mechanism in SON(Service Overlay Network) architecture to provide delay guarantees of different aggregate traffics over IP network. In addition to the bandwidth provision problem of aggregate-traffic in service overlay network, queuing delay in the service gateway is another critical QoS parameter, and diverse multimedia flows have different delay requirements. To assure the delay requirements of aggregate flows in service overlay network, we present a simple but effective adaptable control mechanism, which consists of two-queues with exhausitive service in cyclic order and characterizes the abilities to ensure delay requirements of various aggregate flows according to their burstiness. Moreover, Associated performance is analyzed by the Markov chain and probability generation function, and simulations validate this analysis.

A Novel Fuzzy Logic Base Scheduling Mechanism for Service Differentiation in IP Networks

Quality of Service (QoS) refers to a set of rules or techniques that help the network administrators use the available network resources optimally to manage the effects of congestion and to treat the applications according to their needs. The differentiated services architecture (DiffServ) allows providing quality of service to users. The major DiffServ premise is that individual flows with sim...

Feasible HCCA Polling Mechanism for Video Transmission in IEEE 802.11e WLANs

IEEE 802.11e standard defines two Medium Access Control (MAC) functions to support Quality of Service (QoS) for wireless local area networks: Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) and HCF Controlled Channel Access (HCCA). EDCA provides fair prioritized QoS support while HCCA guarantees parameterized QoS for the traffics with rigid QoS requirements. The latter shows higher QoS provisioning ...

Scheduling Algorithms for Packet-Oriented MAC Protocols in Wireless Multimedia Systems

Future generation wireless multimedia communications will require efficient Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols able to guarantee suitable Quality of Service (QoS) levels for different traffic classes while achieving a high utilization of radio resources. This paper proposes a new scheduling technique to be adopted at the MAC level in wireless access systems, named Dynamic Scheduling-Time Div...

A Cross-Layer Resource Allocation Algorithm with Dynamic Buffer Allocation Mechanism

A novel cross-layer wireless resource allocation algorithm called DBMQT is proposed which distributes the resource based on dynamic buffer allocation mechanism for orthogonal frequency division multiplex access (OFDMA) system. The aim of allocation algorithm is to maximize system throughput while satisfying the QoS requirement for multi-user and multi-service. The algorithm consists of two step...

Impact of the Multimedia Traffic Sources in a Network Node Using FIFO scheduler

The recent substantial growing of video and voice traffics in the Internet may cause a great impact on the conception and dimensioning of a network node designed to attend only data traffic. The objective of this paper is to investigate how these traffics can affect the present network which works with FIFO scheduler. For this purpose, a simulation platform consisted of several different kinds ...
